Montreal is the aviation capital of the world with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and International Air Transport Association (IATA), both being located in the city. As all these aviation policy making bodies are located here, a need has been felt for setting up of an independent "think-tank" to supplement and compliment the work of these two international governmental and non-governmental bodies. IFFAAD is intended to cover all issues pertaining to aviation and its allied activities and its impact on economic and social development around the world.
